Who invited Old Man Winter? He may be early to the party but shows up with gorgeous weather so I guess we’ll let him stay. I love this time of year when the sun shines bright, the sky is crystal blue, and the air is completely devoid of summer’s humid haze. Who can be upset with a little cold when it’s so nice out? Turkey shoot benefitting Latta Plantation
Black Powder Turkey Shoot Fundraiser — Hosted by Historic Latta Plantation just in time for Thanksgiving. Brush up on your aim and support history while firing an authentic black powder musket. Shoot at the target Saturday for your chance to win a Thanksgiving turkey! Tickets are $10 and includes regular admission (children under 5 free). Fun begins at 10am with relays every 30 minutes. Rusted Root performs Monday at the Visulite Theater
Rusted Root — Ok, so technically this is Monday and not considered the “weekend” but why be so technical? The concert is worth mentioning here and stretching the definition, if you ask me. I dare you to go see them Monday night and not move your feet. Prepare to dance at the Visulite Theater as you rock out to Rusted Root with opening acts Von Gray and Funk Rush. “I would like to reach out my hand…..,” to quote a lyric from their song “Send me on my way,” and drag you with me to what is sure to be one of the best live performances of the year.
