The 2013-2014 Cornelius Concert Series kicks off a new year Sept. 8 with an appearance by the Fuse Praise Band at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The schedule also includes singer Tom Fisch, the Triumphant Quartet, pianist Katie Reimer, and the annual Christmas program.

Fuse Praise Band formed in 2011, “guided by God’s Holy Word to use their gifts to tell His story,” according to an announcement from the church.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 8, 6pm, Family Life Center – Fuse Praise Band – Formed in 2011, Fuse Praise Band’s goal is to spread the truth of God’s limitless love and unending grace through music.

SATURDAY, OCT. 12, 5pm, Mt. Zion Front Lawn – singer Tom Fisch – In 2004, Tom relocated from Nashville to Western North Carolina and its thriving acoustic music scene. Tom and his music have found a comfortable place to call home. And wherever he performs, audiences continue to connect with the warm, appealing style, diverse range of material, and talent this seasoned performer brings to the stage.” His music ranges from country to folk to children’s music. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16, 7pm, sanctuary – Triumphant Quartet – www.triumphantquartet.com
Formed in 2003, the then named Integrity Quartet, began their ministry together at the Louise Mandrell Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN. In 2009 they were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Album for their release “Everyday”. With all of the accolades and success, the men of Triumphant Quartet keep their focus to keep God first in all that they do. www.triumphantquartet.com

FRIDAY, NOV. 1, 7pm, sanctuary – concert pianist Katie Reimer – The concert features New York City based pianist and Wisconsin native, Katie Reimer. Reimer currently performs and direct Mimesis Ensemble, a NYC based chamber music ensemble dedicated to performing music by living composers. She holds degrees from Lawrence University Conservatory of Music and Boston Conservatory.   www.katiereimer.com

SUNDAY, DEC. 22, 11am and 3pm, sanctuary – Christmas at Mt. Zion –  This annual Christmas program will feature the Chancel Choir, Hand Bell ensemble and Chamber Orchestra. The featured work is “The Heart of Christmas” by Pepper Choplin.
