Tip for the weekend: Live in the moment

[1]An unexpected tragedy recently turned my world upside down. As I reflect on the past two weeks, and all that has transpired, I’m remembering a person who lived life to the fullest, and did his absolute best to spread joy. My goal from this point forward is to try and do the same.
I was attempting to do it before, but now I’m more focused. I’ve always tried to deliver positivity through this column, and I’ve looked for the wonderful things in these towns that we call home. I think where I failed, however, was in embracing each and every moment. Those moments of peace and quiet devoid of outside interests. Those moments of contemplation without being entertained. Those moments of missed opportunities to impact others in the most positive way.
I have a lot of work to do improve my footprint on this planet and in the hearts and souls of others. It is not an impossible task. I am reminded of this fact by the person we just lost. He accomplished that, and so much more, during his short time here on earth.
I won’t be in town this weekend, so I’m turning you over to our Weekend Calendar [2]. Pick something that interests you, and gives you an opportunity to shine. You just might be amazed by how many lives are lit up in the process.
