Cornelius board, library events, anti-bullying forum

Beat the inclement weather this week by checking our Updated Events Calendar for activities indoors and between the storms in the Lake Norman region. We’ve updated our calendar layout and browsing options to provide a comprehensive community calendar. You can check it out at davidsonnews.net/guide/events [3].
Today, the Cornelius Library presents Mad Science, [4] an interactive and educational performance for kids ages 5-8, starting at 2pm in the Cornelius Library. This evening, the Cornelius Town Board [5] will meet at Town Hall, with the pre-meeting beginning at 6pm and the full agenda at 7pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend both meetings.
On Tuesday another educational program comes to the Cornelius Library with their Dig Into the Past! [6] event at 2pm. Register online ahead of time. The Davidson Library also continues its summ
er programming for kids with Paws to Read [7], a reading session with therapy dogs to help boost young children’s confidence and enjoyment in reading.
Lunch in the Lot [8] continues Wednesday at lunch time at the Oak Street Mill shopping area in Downtown Cornelius. Stop by for a creative, local dishes served by area food trucks between 11am and 2pm. Wednesday evening, visit the Cornelius Outdoor Cinema series [9] presentation of Hotel Transylvania at Kenton Place. The movie will begin at 8:30pm, weather permitting.
The Foundation for Respect Forum on Bullying Prevention and Conflict Resolution [10] will be held this Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm in the Community Room at Aquesta Bank in Cornelius. The forum is interactive and will focus on strategies and preventive measures for dealing with these issues during the school year. Thursday evening, Summit Coffee’s live music offerings continue with Billy Jones and Friends [11] from 8-11pm, and the Davidson Community Players’ presentation of Leading Ladies [12] carries on into the weekend.
