Meetings, music, library events and ‘Leading Ladies’

Get involved with your community this week by attending a local government meeting, visiting one of our public libraries, joining the Rotary Club, or participating in live music or trivia night with your neighbors. Monday, the Cornelius Planning Board [3] will meet in the Cornelius Town Hall in Room 204 from 6pm-9pm. In downtown Davidson, Summit Coffee hosts their weekly Trivia Night [4] starting at 7:30pm – come out and test your trivial knowledge. Read on for more events in the Lake Norman Region.
THIS WEEK’S CALENDAR PREVIEW
This Tuesday, the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce Professional Women’s Network (PWN) Meeting [5] will be held from 8:30-10am at the Springhill Suites on Gateway Boulevard in Mooresville. At 10:30am, elementary aged kids are invited to join the staff at the Davidson Library at their Dig Into Reading [6] summer program. Registration is required ahead of the event. That evening, The Rotary Club of Davidson hosts Rockie Lynne at the Brickhouse Tavern [7] during their monthly meeting. Everyone is invited to enjoy live music and to learn more about the Rotary Club.
Wednesday, Davidson College Presbyterian and Davidson United Methodist Churches team up to continue offering the Davidson Career Transition Program [8], which meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings of each month from 10 to noon in room 216 of DUMC’s Education Building. The Cornelius Library will host a video game tournament [9] at the library from 2-4pm – be sure to register in advance. Enjoy live jazz with your meal at Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse, when The Added Touch Duo [10] returns to Flatiron from 7:30-9:30pm.
Thursday evening, The Nautical Nook Bar is hosting a karaoke night [11]and food truck from 5pm until close, featuring the Root Down Food Truck. The Davidson Community Players presentation of Leading Ladies [12] opens Thursday night as well, at 8pm in the Duke Family Performance Hall at Davidson College. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 704-892-7953 or online at davidsoncommunityplayers.org [13].
