[2]If you enjoy food like I do, you’ll be just as thrilled over these two events as I am. Both place it front and center on our collective weekend agendas.
You may have heard of a little thing called Taste of Charlotte? Well, it’s here once again, and incumbent upon us to head Uptown and sample all that the Queen City has to offer. Experience what foodies everywhere have been saying especially since the Democratic National Convention shined a spotlight on our fair city last year, Charlotte has arrived. The restaurant scene is jam packed with world class talent, and a palate to please most anyone. Participating chefs and restaurants include a virtual who’s who of the culinary world. Details regarding times, entertainment, and, of course, food offerings, can be found on the festival’s website at http://www.tasteofcharlotte.com/ [3]
But before you go, start your day off right with a Breakfast of Champions at the Davidson Farmer’s Market. Join others Saturday morning in support of two wonderful organizations for this annual cook-off featuring live cooking, local chefs, and farm fresh foods.
Proceeds from the event, affectionately being called a Taste-Nic – as a cross between a tasting and a picnic – will benefit the market, as well as Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center, a licensed nonprofit child care center committed to serving the needs of the community by providing safe, affordable daycare for all children, regardless of socio-economic standing. Is your stomach growling yet? Taste-Nic Breakfast of Champions kicks off Saturday June 8th at 9am before wrapping up at 11am.
