Learn about the N. Meck Senior Center May 10

[1]HUNTERSVILLE – North Mecklenburg Senior Center will host its annual open house Friday May 10th from 11AM to 3PM. There will be a wide range of activities, plus free food available for participants and visitors.
“The purpose of our annual Open House is to highlight all the programs, activities and services that are available at the senior center all year round” Ahern said. “I hope all of our participants, as well as our North Mecklenburg neighbors 55 and older will attend and see what we have to offer.”
Displays highlighting the center’s activities will be shown, along with registration information. There is no membership fee at the Senior Center and many of the programs are free. Participants do have the option of purchasing an annual discount card for $52, which helps support the center and provides discounted fees for some activities.
The May 10th open house includes:
- ·Dance contests and door prizes as DJ Bob Lazar plays the music of the 50’s and 60’s.
- ·Snacks beginning at 11 AM; Free lunch beginning at 12:30PM.
- ·Numerous games including corn hole, croquet, target throw, badminton, and bean bag toss.
- Bingo at 2:00 PM.
“This is a rain or shine event so we urge all area senior adults to come out and see what we to have to offer while making some new friends” Ahern said.
The North Mecklenburg Senior Center is at 16601 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, at the location of the Solid Rock Church and is open Monday-Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. . For more information, call (704) 875-1270 or go to the center’s website: www.cmseniorcenters.org [2].
