Raffaldini Vineyards is in Ronda, off I-77 in Wilkes County. (Click image to visit the Raffaldini web page)
One of the perks of living at Lake Norman is its proximity to the vineyards of Yadkin Valley and beyond. Just a short drive over the lake and straight up I-77 sit several wineries that call that area home. Each year one of these, Raffaldini Vineyards & Winery in Ronda, offers quarterly seasonal wine dinners that are not to be missed, the first of which for 2013 takes place this coming Saturday, Jan. 19. Unless you already have a ticket, though, I’m afraid you’ll have to sit it out, because it’s sold out. But you can still plan a visit for another event, such as a cooking demonstration, a visit with the wine maker or the Spring Wine Dinner in April.
The winery recently was featured on UNC-TV’s “North Carolina Weekend Now,” which showcased the family’s history, beautiful grounds and vineyards, and new tasting room.
If you’re lucky enough to have a seat at the table Saturday you’re in for a treat. The Four Seasons Wine Tasting Dinner Winter 2013 starts at 6pm. Here’s a look at the menu being offered – with antipasti, veggie lasagne, pork scaloppini, and other dishes paired with Raffaldini wines.
RSVP now for April 13th. Spring will be here before we know it. (And you might contact the vineyard for last minute cancellations on this weekend’s dinner. There’s a possibility space could open up and your weekend could improve. Phone: 336-835-9463.)
