The Thanksgiving holiday always brings a slowdown on our community calendar, but there’s still fun around the area this week, from a Davidson College choral concert to a Town of Cornelius tree lighting. Local runners have a choice of Turkey Trot races on Thanksgiving Day, in Mooresville and Cornelius.

Mooresville Christmas Parade, 3pm, downtown Mooresville – 68th Annual Mooresville Christmas Parade. The Oasis Shriners Parade will begin at 3pm featuring the players for the Oasis All-Star Classic football game and their go-karts. The Mooresville Parade follows at 3:30pm. Starts at Statesville Avenue and Main Street, continues down Main Street and ends just past Wilson Avenue at Merino’s Home Furnishings. Includes marching bands, and Santa. Free.
