The 2012 run for the Carolina Renaissance Festival wraps up this weekend, with the grounds off Poplar Tent Road open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5:30pm. When we gave away tickets a few weeks back, we invited readers to submit their favorite photos of past festivals. Below is a gallery of our favorites. Thanks to all who entered!
Meanwhile, the end of the festival means the end to traffic jams on N.C. 73 east of Davidson and Huntersville. With any luck, those bottlenecks won’t be a factor next year. The festival producers said this week they’re hoping to open a second entrance from NC 73 on newly-purchased land. In case you missed it, see our Nov. 11, 2012, report: “Amid traffic jams, Renaissance Fest eyes 2nd entrance.”
