From Davidson College’s theatrical production of “A Month in the Country” to the annual barbecue at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church to the 2nd annual Chef Challenge at the Davidson Farmer’s Market, the schedule this week is wide ranging. Davidson commissioners hold another in a series of informal chats with citizens, and Pine Lake Prep hosts a Walk for Stomach Cancer. Davidson’s suicide prevention committee hosts a community gathering on the Village Green Saturday, and that day also brings the YMCA’s Spirit, Mind and Body day. Details on those and other events this week are below.

MONDAY, OCT. 29

Davidson Planning Board, 7pm, Davidson Town Hall, 216 S. Main St., Davidson – Davidson Planning Board monthly meeting. As the snow falls, the teens search for the truth, argue, laugh, and try to work together to get Eva back to where she came from. Nov. 1-3 at 7pm. Tickets $7 at the door.

DCPC/DUMC Day of Service, 8am, Davidson College Presbyterian Church, North Main Street and Concord Road, Davidson – Annual Joint Day of Service at Davidson United Methodist Church and Davidson College Presbyterian Church, with volunteers working on projects at Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, Davidson Elementary School, Barium Springs Home for Children, and other locations.
