Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in downtown Davidson will host a benefit night featuring celebrity scooopers Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., to aid the Davidson Cornelius Child Development Center, the area’s only sliding scale day care.
Twenty percent of the night’s sales and all tips will go to the organization. Guest scoopers are Courtney Spear of Davidson Farmer’s Market, Davidson College student Olympic kayaker Caroline Queen, barber Ron Raeford, Davidson psychology professor Julio Ramirez.
Ben & Jerry’s is at 202 S. Main St.
Davidson Cornelius Child Development Center is at 242 Gamble St. in Davidson. The 4-decade-old nonprofit is licensed as a 5-star day care by the State of North Carolina. Operating funds come from parent fees, the state’s child care subsidy program, grants, and donations from businesses and individuals. It serves infants through pre-K.
