Angels of ’97 hosts Nov. 5 golf tourney for scholarships

[1]Angels of ’97 will host the Ninth Annual Puttin’ Fore A Purpose Golf Tournament on Monday, Nov. 5, presented by Williamson Wealth Group. This year’s tournament has relocated to Pine Island, a locally owned private golf course in Charlotte. Angels of ’97 was formed in 1997 to honor five area high school students who died before graduating.
For more than 15 years, the board of Angels of ’97, has raised over $450,000 to support scholarships for local high school seniors. In addition to supporting students financially, the board also aims to hold up bereaved families and provide community support in their time of need.
The annual golf tournament attracts sponsors, players, representatives of Hopewell, Hough and North Mecklenburg golf teams, bereaved families and former scholarship recipients, who come together to celebrate the lives of so many Angels that touch our lives daily.
Teams of four will play in a Captain’s Choice Foursome. The shotgun start begins at 1:00 p.m. Player registration is $100/player. There’s also a post-tournament banquet.
