Christmas is upon us and house parties are everywhere. But if you’re looking for something else to do: Davidson College’s men’s basketball team plays at UMass Thursday night, and the game is on radio and internet video. There’s plenty of live music the next couple of nights, from Billy Jones and the Pocket at Summit Coffee in Davidson Thursday to Captain Lou Friday at The Brickhouse to a holiday reunion gig by local band Chasing Pedestrians Friday at Snug Harbor in Charlotte. DCPC Christmas Eve services, 4, 7:30, 11 p.m. – Davidson College Presbyterian Church, corner of Main Street and Concord Road, Davidson. All services will be held in the sanctuary. Service at 4 p.m. is planned especially for families with young children. Childcare will be provided for children ages 2-under. The 7:30 p.m. service is filled with music provided by the Chancel Choir. Lib McGregor Simmons is preaching. Child care is provided. The 11 p.m. service is filled with music provided by the Geneva Choir and includes the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
