
Mooresville author Wendy K. Perriman will celebrate the publication of her debut novel “Fire on Dark Water” on Tuesday, June 7, with a party and reading on the patio of the Brickhouse Tavern in Davidson. “Fire on Dark Water” is a novel about a young woman named Lola Blaise, set amid the history of the pirates Blackbeard and Anne Bonny.
Ms. Perriman will be at the Brickhouse in costume, signing books from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, and reading beginning at 7 p.m., according to Betty Reinke, of Davidson’s Main Street Books, which will be selling copies of the novel at the event.
“Fire on Dark Water” is the British-born writer’s first work of fiction. She has a PhD from Drew University and also has written poetry and scholarly books. (More on her website, www.wendyperriman.com.)
