Foundation for Respect Ability offers anti-bullying workshop

The Foundation for Respect Ability invites school and district administrators, school staff members and community leaders to a free anti-bullying workshop May 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Aquesta Bank offices, 19510 Jetton Rd.
Mark Weiss, Education Director of Operation Respect and former New York City principal, will lead the workshop, highlighting Operation Respect’s “Don’t Laugh at Me” program and “Respect for All” program techniques.
Operation Respect is a non-profit organization working to ensure every child has a respectful, safe and compassionate climate of learning where their academic, social and emotional development can take place. Founded by Peter Yarrow of the folk group Peter, Paul & Mary, the organization disseminates educational resources designed to establish a climate free of ridicule, bullying and violence.
The Foundation for Respect Ability [1] is modeled after Operation Respect’s mission and conducts anti-bullying concerts and related services throughout the Charlotte area.
