Cornelius Concert Series will present The Lake Norman Big Band, featuring special music guest Mark Graham on saxophone, on Feb. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 19600 Zion Ave., Cornelius.
The band performs the full spectrum of jazz, including Dixieland, swing, bebop, Latin, jazz-rock fusion and pop. Admission is $5. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. For more information call 704-896-8566 or visit www.mtzionumc.net.
ORGAN AT DUMC
On Sunday, Feb. 20, Organist Leon Chisholm will play a concert at Davidson United Methodist Church, 233 S. Main St. The program combines music from Tudor England with “Dragon Warrior,” Bach’s “Final Fantasy IX,” and “The Legend of Zelda” with a “warrior” mass from North Carolina. Organizers call it a “mirthful exploration of musical warriors and dragons across time and realities.” A love offering will be collected to support the DUMC Music Academy. Child care will be provided. Call 704-892-8277 for more information.
