Sports, Souper Bowl, ‘Kokoro’ lectures, Lunar New Year

Davidson College’s theater department is gearing up for the upcoming production of “Kokoro” with a lecture series that begins with events Monday and Tuesday. The Warehouse Performing Arts Center’s play “Frozen” continues this weekend, with shows Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Davidson Lands Conservancy and partners host a star-gazing party Friday. Saturday is the 7th annual Souper Bowl where patrons will be invited to sample soups provided by about 10 area restaurants. There are three Davidson College basketball games this week: the women against Elon on Monday and Western Carolina on Saturday and the men against Chattanooga on Saturday. Meanwhile, next Sunday, Feb. 6, is the NFL’s Super Bowl, but if football isn’t your style, the college’s Asian Culture & Awareness Association will host a Lunar New Year celebration and fireworks.
