Freymann-Weyr to speak at writers club Thursday

Novelist Garret Freymann-Weyr will be the guest speaker at a meeting of Charlotte Writer’s Club North on Thursday, Jan. 6. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Davidson College Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Main St.
Ms. Freymann Weyr is the author of six novels. Her first picture book, “French Ducks in Venice,” is forthcoming from Candlewick Press. Her work has been translated into five languages, including Japanese.
Ms. Freymann-Weyr received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina and her M.F.A. from New York University. Her work has been honored by the Michael L. Printz Award, the American Library Association, Publishers Weekly and the New York Public Library. She is a native of New York City, lived in Washington, D.C., for many years and now makes her home in Davidson with her dog, her husband and a cat.
Founded in 1922, Charlotte Writer’s Club is a membership organization whose mission is to support Charlotte’s community of writers. CWC-North meets at 7:00 on the first Thursday of each month at Davidson College Presbyterian Church, 100 North Main Street in Davidson.
