The Davidson College music department and the college’s co-ed a cappella group Androgyny are joining forces for a benefit concert on April Fool’s Day, Thursday, April 1, that will help raise money for creation of a free CD by the group.
The concert, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Sloan Music Center’s Tyler-Tallman Hall, will include a variety of campus music groups. It features Androgyny’s a cappella riffs to classical and contemporary tunes from Music Department students and the hit ensembles 52′ of Brass and The ‘Nets, to foot-tapping rhythms from the Dance Team and sweet crooning from Davidson’s own Four Coursemen.
All proceeds will help pay for Androgyny to distribute its music to every student, faculty, and staff member of Davidson College, for free. In the past, Androgny has recorded a CD and sold it. This year, it plans to offer the CD for free.
Tickets available for $5 from the Union Ticket Office, 704-894-2135. More info on the college website.
