Sarah Sullivan
On Sunday, March 28, the Music at St. Alban’s series presents the gifted 16-year-old flutist Sarah Sullivan and members of the St. Alban’s Bach Festival Orchestra in a concert titled “Bohemian Rhapsody: Music of Mozart’s Prague. The concert begins at 3 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 301 Caldwell Lane.
During Mozart’s brief lifetime, Prague was the only city that truly recognized him for the genius that he was, and Mozart’s love for the Czech capital was evidenced by the number of works, including the great opera Don Giovanni, that were first performed there.
Sunday’s concert will have music by Mozart, including “Divertimento for Strings, K. 136,” and his Bohemian contemporaries, including Josef Myslivecek’s “Flute Concerto in D,” featuring Ms. Sullivan.
