Ed Williams, a veteran journalist who is teaching this semester at Davidson College,will give the college’s 2010 Batten Lecture Monday night on “Losing the News: How the Communications Revolution Is Good and Bad for America.”
The lecture is Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Semans Lecture Hall of the Belk Visual Arts Center, Main and Griffith streets. Admission is free.
Mr. Williams is visiting this semester as Davidson’s 2010 Batten Professor of Public Policy.
The professorship and lecture are named in honor of the late James Batten, who was chairman of Knight-Ridder newspapers when he died of a brain tumor at age 59 in 1995. Mr. Batten was a Davidson College graduate who also once served executive editor at The Charlotte Observer.
