How many of this year’s Academy Award-winning films have you seen? Still a few left on your list? Beginning Wednesday, Our Town Cinemas in Davidson will have the three top Oscar winners, including “The Hurt Locker,” which is currently not in theaters.
“The Hurt Locker” won Best Picture Sunday. Also showing will be “Crazy Heart,” which won Best Actor for Jeff Bridges; and “Blind Side,” with Sandra Bullock (Best Actress). Those films will be in rotation this week with “Alice in Wonderland” and “Shutter Island” Wednesday and Thursday. Then beginning Friday, “The Green Zone” joins the mix, replacing “Shutter Island.” (For showtimes, see our Showtimes listing on the main Guide page.)
Jan Black, spokeswoman for Our Town Cinemas, says the theater is one of the few around that will have all the top Oscar winners this week, on the heels of Sunday’s Oscar night. “Our theater can have the agility and connections with the studios to do these special shows,” Ms. Black said.
“Hurt Locker” is out on video now, but Ms. Black said many film buffs may want a chance to see it in 35 mm on the big screen – “the format it was made for,” she said.
