It’s a great weekend to be in Davidson, with music, theater and a farmer’s market. The joint Davidson College-Davidson Community Players children’s theater production “Annavel and the Funny Little Man: A Rumplestiltskin Tale” is onstage at Davidson College. Davidson Farmers Market is back with a Saturday tailgate market next to Town Hall. Local musicians will play an all-day benefit concert Saturday at Summit Coffee for Haitian earthquake relief.
The Lake Norman Chamber’s annual meeting is tonight at River Run, where local lawyer Bob McIntosh will be installed as 2010 chairman. Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory is the keynote speaker.
Three new films open Friday at Our Town Cinemas: “Tooth Fairy,” “Young Victoria” and “Up in the Air.” St. Alban’s Episcopal Church hosts a blood drive on Saturday, and Saturday night brings the annual ICE Gala at the Peninsula Club, to raise money for Davidson’s Ada Jenkins Center.
