Davidson-based artist Felicia van Bork captured the top prize last weekend at a juried exhibition in Raleigh. Also below, our listing of current exhibits at galleries in and around Davidson.

1st PRIZE FOR van BORK

Painter/printmaker Felicia van Bork grabbed first prize on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Printmakers of North Carolina 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition, in Raleigh.

Jurors Kelly McChesney, Director, Flanders Art Gallery, and Tamar Harris-Warren, curator for Flanders Art Gallery, Raleigh, presented the award, given to the best print among the approximately 50 in the show. The award came with a $250 prize.

Ms. van Bork’s winning print, “Deep Music in Deep Water,” is a large-format monotype completed a year ago at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass. In September of this year, van Bork received her MFA in art from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
