Best-selling novelist Dorothy Allison, this year’s McGree visiting professor of writing at Davidson College, special-buttons42 will have a public reading and book signing Monday night at the college union. That’s among the highlights of our busy community calendar this week before Labor Day. Also on the schedule, a pair of juggling-related events: The Hurricane Hugo Juggling Festival with a public juggling session on the Village Green Saturday morning, and a related evening show called the Family Vaudeville Extravaganza. Also: lectures, a documentary film screening and sporting events at the college, and live music at local venues.
