Stardusters Big Band on the Green Aug. 16

The sounds of swing will fill the air on the Village Green Aug. 16 when the Stardusters Big Band [1] take the stage at another Downtown Davidson Inc. Concert on the Green. The free event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring a blanket and a picnic and join the fun.
The Stardusters Big Band plays waltzes from the 1920s, ballads from the 1930s, swing tunes from the 1940s, Latin tunes from the 1950s, Broadway show tunes from the 1960s, and a few rock and roll numbers. Stardusters have five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, a piano, bass, drums, guitar, and vocalist.
Each concert this year features a picnic contest with prizes awarded to the winners. The picnic theme for the August 16 show is “Elegant and Classy”.
