This week’s calendar of events in and around Davidson includes a variety of special-buttons42 summer events for kids at Davidson public library branch on the Village Green. On Saturday morning, there’s a “Think Pink” dog show fund-raiser for breast cancer research organized by 10-year-old Ally Miller. Then Saturday night, take in a free recital by Annie Rhodes and Jenny Giduz, two of the area’s most promising young sopranos, at Davidson College Presbyterian Church Lingle Chapel. There’s also a bloodmobile at St. Alban’s Epsicopal Church on Saturday morning, and on Sunday, a “Tastes for Habitat” fund-raiser by Our Towns Habitat Women Build. Their apartment doesn’t meet their standards and their neighbors are quirky. It’s a heart warming comedy about sacrifices, new beginnings, and not letting things get in the way of what matters.     DAVIDSON DASH SHUTTLE BUS – Mondays, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Town of Davidson has begun service on a weekly shuttle bus called Davidson Dash. The bus will visit downtown, South Main Street, Sadler Square and the Harris Teeter shopping center near Exit 30. Cost: $1 per roundtrip.
