North County Regional Library in Huntersville. Winners advance to the library’s system-wide finals in August. Davidson College plans a three-day public sale of “gently used” furniture beginning Friday. Meetings this week include the Lake Norman Transportation Commission monthly meeting Wednesday in Huntersville.

TUESDAY, JULY 7, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Davidson public library branch, on the Village Green – Summer “Paws to Read” program with Sadie Dudley, library canines, who will be there to listen to stories and interact with all. Details on the library blog.
TUESDAY, JULY 7, 2 p.m., North County Regional Library, Huntersville – “Rock Band” video game tournament. 12-18 year olds are invited to participate in the qualifying round of the library’s system-wide Rock Band Tournament. THURSDAY, JULY 9 – Davidson Town Board visits BVU (Bristol Virginia Utilities) for tour and meetings. BVU manages the local MI-Connection cable system for the towns of Davidson and Mooresville. Agenda includes a tour of BVU’s facility, meeting the BVU Staff, and updates on MI-Connection’s recently completed network upgrade and first 1 1/2 years of financial results.

DAVIDSON DASH SHUTTLE BUS – Mondays, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Town of Davidson has begun service on a weekly shuttle bus called Davidson Dash. The bus will visit downtown, South Main Street, Sadler Square and the Harris Teeter shopping center near Exit 30. Cost: $1 per roundtrip.
