Forgive us if we lead this week’s Davidson Weekend Calendar with a bit of self-promotion: DavidsonNews.net is holding
its first subscriber party and community gathering Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Summit Coffee downtown. We’re celebrating 2 1/2 years of local news and community, the debut of our new T-shirts, local music, and oh, the 50th birthday of your favorite local editor. If you read us, please come and meet our staff, your fellow readers and your neighbors and soak in a bit of community spirit. It’s free, with a cash bar and snacks. Details: www.davidsonnews.net/support/
Meanwhile, there’s also live music at Summit Thursday and Friday. And a new play opens Friday at Warehouse Performing Arts Center in Cornelius: “An Empty Plate in the Grand Cafe du Boeuf,” by Michael Hollinger. Also on the schedule: receptions Thursday night and Friday morning to welcome Terry Hall as new principal at Davidson Elementary.
Just a reminder: We update this calendar continuously as we receive new listings. And check back Monday, when we publish our This Week calendar.
