Our Davidson-area calendar this week includes another April Is for Arts weekend, with the Art on the Green festival, the dedication of that new public art sculpture outside the post office, and a Sunday Concert on the Green. It also will be Reunion Weekend at the College. On Tuesday, the town hosts another in a series of community planning forums. Davidson College grad and Army 1st Lt. Kevin Bell speaks tonight about his experiences in Afghanistan. Lectures at the college look at life after death, art collecting and pop culture. And golf tourneys and other fund-raisers are also on tap, including Tuesday’s dine-out Autism Aware Fare.

And looking ahead, just a reminder that 2009 Davidson Town Day is scheduled Saturday, May 2, on the Village Green. The day begins with the Day Care Dash fund-raising foot race at 8 a.m. Opening ceremonies for Town Day are at 10. Details below. ^[1]
