Davidson Parks & Rec announcement
Davidson Parks & Recreation will host the annual Town Day festival Saturday, May 2, on the Village Green, Concord Road and Main Street. Opening ceremonies are at 10 a.m., with festivities filling the Town Green and Main Street with carnival games, food, arts and entertainment for the whole family.
The Flex Flyer, and Kid Train is back by popular demand. New this year is the Berry Go Round. A variety of professional and local talent will be appearing on the main stage located at the Davidson Public Library throughout the day. Local vendors will offer a variety of food and a wide range of items for sale such as art, soaps, baskets, painted gourds, etc.
View demonstrations by a wood turner and wood carver or make your own piece of pottery.
8 a.m. ROAD RACE
Prior to opening ceremonies the Davidson/Cornelius Day Care will host its 13th annual Day Care Dash. Run the one mile Fun Run at 8:00 a.m. or course certified 5K at 8:30 a.m. All proceeds support the nonprofit Davidson-Cornelius Day Care Center.

STREET CLOSINGS
Streets will be closed from 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. to accommodate the vendors and large crowds. The streets that will be closed are Main Street between Concord Rd. and Chairman Blake and Lorimer between Concord Road and the CVS parking lot.
