The North Mecklenburg Senior Center offers three, free financial planning seminars this month, led by financial planner Mary Langhorne. The seminars will cover topics such as credit score, life insurance, estate planning and more, and are open to members of the community.

The schedule for the seminars is as follows:

• Tuesday, July 17, 10:30 a.m.: Financial Security. How to protect yourself from scams, the importance of a good credit rating and how to raise your credit score.
• Tuesday, July 24, 10:30 a.m.: Estate Planning and Settlement. Review of the five essential estate and advance planning documents and then a discussion on what to do financially after the death of a spouse.
• Tuesday, July 31, 10:30 a.m.: Insurance – Life, Home and Auto, and Long-Term Care. What to do about rising costs, do you need life insurance, and what to do if you can’t afford the jump in your long-term care premium.
