CORNELIUS – Senior citizens from throughout north Mecklenburg gathered at Jetton Park Tuesday for the annual Senior Fun and Fitness Day, organized by local recreation departments. The day included lunch by Shads Landing, health screenings, a 1.4 mile fitness walk and 15 fitness stations.
Senior-oriented safety and health programs as well as local businesses offered information at booths. The Pines at Davidson was there, too, offering information and a prize drawing.
The event was a joint event by recreation departments from Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville, the Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation Department and the North Mecklenburg Senior Center.
