Mother’s Day always presents a dilemma: To feast at home or to take Mom out for brunch or dinner. The former works if you’ve got someone else around who’s handy in the kitchen – or even on the grill. The latter is always a fallback, especially given the large number of restaurants that offer Mother’s Day Sunday specials. Mother’s Day around our house growing up always brought some kind of special dinner – usually something not on Dad’s or we kids’ lists of of favorites, but something Mom wanted that she couldn’t get away with cooking any other time. She usually got what she wanted, though of course in our household she also had to cook it herself. Small price to pay, I suppose, to enjoy something like roast lamb. Read the full story
