“Why didn’t anyone think of this before?” is the obvious question about the first ever Davidson Dinner Promenade, sponsored by The Town of Davidson and several local restaurants. On March 8, 16 Davidson residents enjoyed a progressive-style dinner featuring mini-courses at Restaurant X, Campania Café & Trattoria, Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse, Toast Café of Davidson and Il Bosco Ristorante & Bar.

As participants walked from one restaurant to the next in perfect early March weather, Stewart Gray, of the Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission and Davidson Historical Society, treated us to a series of impromptu history lessons about the Town of Davidson. Continue Reading

Eat a lot of red meat? You might want to consider replacing it with more fish, poultry, nuts, legumes, low-fat dairy products, and whole grains, according to new studies from Harvard University. The studies of 37,000 men and 83,000 women found that eating red meat can increase your risk of early death from heart disease and cancer.
