The 2-inch cookies are finished by rolling in confectioners sugar.
The cookie-baking has begun around our house and, I suspect, at many other homes this month. Tins of confections, from sugar-dusted balls to chocolate rounds to nut-filled mini-pastries, are filling up the counters.
“When you start making cookies, then you know the holidays are really here,” says Shelley, the chief cookie-baker on staff here at DavidsonNews.net World Headquarters.

Davidson Parks & Rec offers gingerbread house workshops for kids and adults.
The town’s Parks & Recreation department is offering a pair of gingerbread-house workshops over the next two weeks – one for adults on Dec. 11 and another for kids on Dec. 18.
