Ben & Jerry’s in Davidson and local celebrity scoopers helped raise $438 Wednesday night, Oct. 3, for Davidson Cornelius Child Development Center.
Twenty percent of the night’s sales and all tips went to the organization. Guest scoopers were Courtney Spear of Davidson Farmer’s Market, Davidson College student Olympic kayaker Caroline Queen, barber Ron Raeford, Davidson psychology professor Julio Ramirez.
Davidson Cornelius Child Development Center is at 242 Gamble St. in Davidson. The 4-decade-old nonprofit is licensed as a 5-star day care by the State of North Carolina. Operating funds come from parent fees, the state’s child care subsidy program, grants, and donations from businesses and individuals. It serves infants through pre-K.
