LUCKY DOG GRAND OPENING WEEKEND
The Lucky Dog Bark and Brew, in the building that used to house Kylie’s on N.C. 21, is gearing up for its grand opening weekend Aug. 17-19. In addition to the coffee, cocktails and beer (and water, for pups), a food truck will be on site, and this week misters were installed in the outdoor play areas to help keep things cool.
Also, the Lucky Dog will donate 50 percent of its membership dues to the Cornelius Animal Shelter. Already it has more than $425 to donate, and owners Randy and Kelly Waugh hope to reach $1,000 for the donation after the grand opening weekend. Members pay $10 a year and get a key card to swipe upon entry – similar to what you get at a gym. Membership is per household, not per dog.
