Don’t feel like cooking this Thanksgiving? Flatiron Kitchen in Davidson is offering a traditional turkey dinner by reservation only on Thursday. Meanwhile, Davidson Parks & Rec and Armin’s Catering are offering a Mother-Daughter Tea at Beaver Dam in December. And several area restaurants are helping out Hospice this month with “Dining Out for Hospice” events.
THANKSGIVING AT FLATIRON
If you’re just not keen on cooking this Thanksgiving, Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse in downtown Davidson will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a traditional turkey dinner menu for $24.95. They’ll be doing roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce and pumpkin cheesecake. Call for a reservation, 704-237-3246.
Meanwhile, Flatiron also is selling gift cards for the holidays, and for every $50 you spend, they’ll give you back a $10 gift certificate. Also, Flatiron’s Wednesday night live music series continues this week (Wed., Nov. 23), 8-10 p.m., with Christian Leob. And next week, Nov. 30, they’ll have the jazz combo “Off Main.”
HOLIDAY TEA AT BEAVER DAM
Davidson Parks & Recreation will host its first Mother/Daughter Holiday Tea Sunday, Dec. 18, at Historic Beaver Dam in Davidson. Pre-registration is required by Dec. 9. Register online www.d-Recs.org or call the Parks & Rec office at 704-892-3349.
The tea will run 2 to 5 p.m., with tea, apple cider, sandwiches, and hors d’oeuvres by Armin’s Catering, which manages Beaver Dam for the town. Cost is $35 per Mother/Daughter couple, additional daughter $15. Beaver Dam is at 19600 Davidson-Concord Road.

The historic house will be dressed up in Christmas cheer for you to enjoy. The Mother/Daughter Holiday Tea is the perfect excuse to put on your festive holiday attire while you spend some quality time with just the girls. Even with Jack Frost nipping at your nose and Christmas shopping nipping at your heels, you can hang the holiday stresses at the door and sit and relax while we take care of the rest.

DINE OUT FOR HOSPICE
It’s National Hospice Month and a variety of local restaurants are helping out by hosting “Dine Out for Hospice” days, where they’ll donate 10 percent of sales to hospice groups, including Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman, or the the Levine & Dickson Hospice House.
North Harbor Club and Sabi Asian Bistro in Davidson already hosted days. Restaurant X in Davidson will host a “Dine Out for Hospice Day” on Tuesday, Nov. 29, with lunch from 11 to 2:30 and dinner from 5:30 to 10. Also joining next week are the Pewter Rose Bistro and Brixx pizza in Charlotte. More information is available at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region’s website, hpccr.org.
