Davidson Farmer’s Market is back this Saturday, May 7, just a day before Mother’s Day, and coinciding with Davidson Town Day on the Village Green. Strawberries are expected to be in abundance, as are other ideas for honoring the mothers in your life.
Of course Herr’s Fresh Flowers from Vale, N.C., will be there, offering their customer or pre-made bouquets. The market also suggests Caroline’s Chocolates, The Lavender Garden and Essential Soaps, and several vendors – including Correll Farms/Red Barn Market, Half Moon Garden and Laughing Llama – who have pots of herbs, perennials and edible plants.
Also Saturday, Rebecca Mays will demonstrate and have on hand beautiful pots with edibles already potted and ready to give as gifts.
In abundance this week: Strawberries by the quart and gallon at Twin Oaks Farm, Peaches & Cream and Houston Farm. Salad greens at Barbee Farms, KC Farms, Coldwater Creek and others, who also have bok choy, fresh broccoli and spring onions.
Davidson Farmer’s Market runs Saturdays next to Town Hall, off Main Street in Davidson. For more information about the market, visit their website, www.davidsonfarmersmarket.com.
