One lane of I-77 northbound at Exit 28 was closed for several hours Thursday night after a two-vehicle crash killed an unidentified woman and injured two other people.
All three were passengers in a Ford Explorer that crashed into the back of a tractor trailer between Exits 28 and 30 [...]

Charlotte Area Transit System has revised its parking advisory for commuters who ride the 77x bus to and from Charlotte. Parking along Griffith Street is temporarily unavailable beginning this week because of repaving. CATS said Wednesday commuters now may park at Children’s Community School, 565 Griffith St.

Road resurfacing is set to begin on Griffith Street next week and it could put park-and-ride commuters in a bind. Charlotte Area Transit System officials are warning commuters who park along the street to use other parking options beginning Monday.

The N.C. Department of Transportation has turned on traffic signals at the intersection of Sloan, Beaty and Griffith streets. For now, the lights will operate on a timer, Davidson public works director Doug Wright said Wednesday.
