Town board changes guard Tuesday

The Town Board will have a limited agenda at its monthly meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m., where the main business will be to welcome newly elected members and honor those retiring. After 28 years in town government, Mayor Randy Kincaid is stepping down, as are board members Cary Johnston and Bruce McMillen.

Woods elected mayor; Williams tops vote among commissioners

Davidson voters elected John Woods (photo) as mayor Tuesday, giving him 1,521 votes or 67 percent of the vote with all the ballots counted, according unofficial results from the Mecklenburg Board of Elections. William E. Jackson Jr. received 733 votes or 32 percent.
