Albert Allen Wolf, 73, of Charlotte, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, as a result of a brain tumor. He was the husband of Alston Osgood Wolf and had retired in 1991 as a physics professor at Davidson College.

William Cook dies at 54; Sat. fund-raising walk goes on

William Ernest Cook of Huntersville, one of two remaining dairy farmers in Mecklenburg County, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, of complications from lymphoma. He was 54. A funeral is planned Thursday at 4 p.m. at Cornelius Presbyterian Church.

H. Marc Cathey, a Davidson native, horticulturist and former director of the U.S. National Arboretum died Wednesday, Oct. 8. He was 79.  A memorial service is planned Sunday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m. in the Davidson College Presbyterian Church sanctuary. A reception will follow in the Congregation House.
