Golfers will tee it up May 13 at River Run Country Club in Davidson at the 2nd Annual Swing Fore A Child’s Place golf tournament May 13, raising money to help homeless children to attend summer camp. The event includes a buffet lunch, golf, prizes, raffles and dinner, with all funds raised going directly to A Child’s Place summer camp program My Place. Read the full story

With just a couple of weeks left before school lets out, many summer camps in and around Davidson still have openings. That includes some camps that in past years have filled early in the spring. Check our Summer Camps listings in The Guide for ideas, including a couple of listings just added: Davidson College’s popular day camp at Lake Norman and the new Davidson Choir Camp at St. Alban’s Church.

Registration has begun for summer camps in and around Davidson. From sports to science to arts and crafts, a wide variety of camps are available for all age levels. Some offer financial assistance for those in need. See our list on the Summer Camps 2009 page.
