Davidson College’s Vann Center for Ethics hosted a panel discussion on “Ethics in the Media” on Feb. 4, 2013, at the Alvarez College Union 900 Room. Panelists included David Boraks, Editor of DavidsonNews.net; Glenn Burkins, Editor of QCityMetro.com; Stuart Watson, Investigative Reporter for WCNC-TV in Charlotte; Rafael Prieto Zartha, Editorial Director, Qué Pasa Mi Gente, Charlotte; and Candace Cummins Gauthier, Professor of Philosophy and Religion, UNC Wilmington.
The event was moderated by David Perry, director of the Vann Center for Ethics and Professor of Applied Ethics at Davidson.
It was part of the center’s lecture series on Ethics in Professional Life.

The former publisher of USA Today is buying four area weekly newspapers from Carolina Weekly Newspaper Group in a deal that’s expected to close by the end of the month. Craig Moon, who retired from USA Today in 2009, plans to relocate from to the Lake Norman area to run the new company, which includes The Herald Weekly in Huntersville, The Mooresville Weekly, the Denver Weekly and The Mountain Island Monitor monthly.
