The Mecklenburg County Health Department on Tuesday issued a warning for residents along Kimberly Road in Davidson after a rabid deer was discovered in the area. According to the Health Department, the deer may have been nursing a fawn, and that fawn also may be rabid.
A healthy animal or human can get rabies when bitten, licked or scratched by a sick animal. Click here for ways to protect yourself from Rabies, as well as guidelines for what to do if you or a pet is exposed to Rabies.
