HUNTERSVILLE – Hundreds of people big and small were at Birkdale Village in Huntersville Wednesday morning for the annual July 4th celebration. A few drops of rain interrupted Davidson’s Independence Day celebration, but the weather couldn’t stop the event on the Village Green Sunday night. The night began with a short parade of about 75 patriotically attired residents waving flags, marching and riding decorated bicycles from McEver Fields up South Street to the Green. Got plans this weekend? The Town of Davidson will host a parade and Concert on the Green, with the band Rough Draft, in honor of Independence Day this Sunday, July 3. Also, applicants are being sought for the Davidson seat on the regional Citizen Transit Advisory Group.
