HUNTERSVILLE – Hundreds of people big and small were at Birkdale Village in Huntersville Wednesday morning for the annual July 4th celebration. A few drops of rain interrupted Davidson’s Independence Day celebration, but the weather couldn’t stop the event on the Village Green Sunday night. The night began with a short parade of about 75 patriotically attired residents waving flags, marching and riding decorated bicycles from McEver Fields up South Street to the Green.
