A thunderstorm with winds as high as 50 to 60 miles per hour blew through Davidson around 6 p.m. Friday, sending tree limbs crashing to the ground. Minor damage was reported around town, including the downtown area, where winds blew down permanent tents at the Davidson Farmer’s Market. Read the full story

A couple of readers – one in the River Run neighborhood and another in the McConnell neighborhood – have written this week to call attention to an unusual push for roof repairs in Davidson, and news coverage about a spike in insurance claims for hail-damaged roofs.
