The North Carolina State University team of Kevin Beverley and Ben Dziwulski captured the FLW Collegiate Fishing Northern Regional Championship on Lake Norman Sunday. The pair caught their limit of six bass, which weighed in at a total 9 pounds, 6 ounces. Read the full story

A group of Lake Norman-area artists invites art lovers to see their work in a five-studio open house this weekend. There’s a big collegiate bass fishing tournament – the FLW Northern Regionals – on Lake Norman this weekend, with a festival and weigh-ins on the Davidson Village Green. And Davidson College’s men’s basketball team plays an exhibition Saturday against Lenoir Rhyne. Meanwhile, don’t miss the return of the smartest dogs around, at the 15th annual Sheep Dog Trials at Rural Hill Farm in Huntersville. Also ahead: Davidson College hosts a symposium on health-care reform tonight (Thursday). And there’s a free wellness class about healthy holiday cooking tonight at Davidson Chiropractic.
